MANILA, Philippines — Two beneficiaries of the government’s conditional cash transfer program have passed this year’s Bar and agricultural and biosystems engineering licensure examinations.

Kerth Jay Alunan of Zamboanga del Norte and Joan Grace Ewican of Carmen, Bohol are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

“We are proud to announce that two former monitored children of 4Ps are now a licensed engineer and a lawyer. We express our pride and recognition for the perseverance and hard work of these individuals,” said Social Welfare Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao.

Alunan is among the 3,962 examinees who passed the Bar exam.

He took up accountancy at the Jose Rizal Memorial State University before studying law.

"We are still monitoring the illegal presence of the [People's Liberation Army] Navy, Coast Guard, and the maritime militia. But our reporting on them will be on a monthly basis to give us a longer duration to look at trends, and to assess on a longer period of time," Trinidad said in a press conference on Tuesday, October 22.

Ewican, meanwhile, earned her bachelor’s degree at the Bohol Island State University-Bilar Campus.

Dumlao said the 4Ps “continues to reap gainsgamebet, with more than 30,000 former monitored children who completed their tertiary education from 2016 to April 30 this year.”
